Scholarship Guidelines
Eligibility

Applicant must be:
-
An employee of RBCC.
-
A child, dependent, or grandchild of an employee of RBCC.

Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited college, university, specialty or trade school, post-secondary education or certification program.

The following individuals are not eligible to apply:
-
Officers and Trustees of the 1925 Eagle Foundation.
-
Members of RBCC.
-
Members of the 1925 Eagle Foundation Scholarship Committee.
-
Any individual who has donated to the Scholarship Program.

Academic requirements:
-
First-time applicants: A minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale in high school or the most recent academic year.

Renewal applicants: A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale for the most recent academic term (quarter, semester, or year).
-
Applicants with a GPA below 3.0 may still be considered for continued support based on specific circumstances and academic achievements.

Morality Clause: As a recipient of this scholarship, the student is expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, responsibility, and ethical conduct in all aspects of their academic and personal life. Any behavior that is deemed unethical, illegal, or detrimental to the reputation of the institution or scholarship organization may result in suspension or termination of the scholarship. This includes, but is not limited to, criminal activity, academic dishonesty, substance abuse, and violations of institutional policies. The scholarship committee reserves the right to review and determine appropriate actions in response to any misconduct.

Awards and recognition.

Work history.

Personal or family attributes.

All applications will be reviewed without regard to race, color, religion, gender, political views, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
General Conditions
Applicants offered a scholarship must agree to the following conditions before accepting the award:

Scholarship funds will be issued directly to the educational institution in equal installments (per semester or as determined by the Scholarship Committee).

Funds can be used for:
-
Tuition paid directly to the institution.
-
Books and fees paid directly to the institution.
-
Room and board billed directly by the institution and paid directly to the institution. (e.g., dorms and meal plans).
-

Scholarship recipients must provide a billing statement from the institution detailing tuition and fees.
-
1925 Eagle Foundations commitment is terminated if any of the following occurs:
-
Does not enroll.
-
The recipient withdraws after/during a semester/term. In cases where the academic institution issues a prorated tuition refund to the student, the Foundation is entitled to receive a proportional refund of its contribution.

Fails to meet the institution’s academic standards for financial aid.
-

Applicants attending 2- or 4-year colleges/universities, post-secondary, trades schools do not need to reapply at the end of each term but must submit transcripts each semester to qualify for continued funding.
Process and Procedures
To ensure prompt and accurate processing of your application, please adhere to the following guidelines:

Complete the application form personally and answer all questions.

Submit all required attachments with the application form.
-
Submit applications by March 31st or September 30th or such other timeline as required by the institution for consideration.

Attend any required interviews, in-person or via Zoom/equivalent, with the 1925 Eagle Foundation Scholarship Committee.
Additional information

Applications become the property of the 1925 Eagle Foundation and will not be returned.

All applicants will be notified in writing of the Scholarship Committee’s and Trustees' decision on a timely basis.

Receiving a scholarship is not guaranteed.
-
Successful award winners must forward their transcripts to the committee for their next semesters (or other post-secondary, trade school etc.) award to be released to the College or University. The applicant must also meet the current criteria for renewal as well
Application Checklist
Submit the following items to the RBCC Human Resources office (or email to hr@rehobothbeachcc.com) by March 31st or September 30th or such other timeline as required by the institution. For hard copies, use a 9x12 inch envelope and do not fold the application.

Completed Scholarship Application form.

Essay (maximum of 2 pages or 1,000 words).

High school report card (for high school applicants only).
-
Transcript of grades (if applicable).

Two signed letters of recommendation.
